Image of Power | SEP – OCT 2024
Welcome to a new edition of “Image of Power,” the presidential approval tracker for Latin America from the Legislative Directory.
Claudia Sheinbaum begins her presidency in Mexico with an approval rating close to 70%. Her main challenge will be to maintain the high level of support seen under her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who left office with a 65% approval rating.
In the rest of the region, approval ratings have remained relatively stable in recent months. Leaders such as Lula da Silva, Javier Milei, Luis Lacalle Pou, and Daniel Noboa are all around 50%, each facing distinct challenges. Meanwhile, Gabriel Boric in Chile and Gustavo Petro in Colombia have maintained approval ratings near 30%.
